Shopping: from Belsay Shop or Brown’s Lakeside Larder
 
Belsay Shop  From Saturday 21st March 2020, until further notice during the Coronavirus pandemic, and with many thanks to our friends from Belsay Shop, you can order what food and goods you need and have them delivered to Whalton Village Hall or to your home.  There is a £3 delivery charge.  You can collect your order from Whalton Village Hall between 2pm and 3pm every day (except Sunday). Or we can arrange to have it delivered to you by volunteers from the community. The shop are now doing fruit and veg boxes at a cost of £15 each plus delivery.  Illustrated on the right.  
 
Brown’s Lakeside Larder at Kirkharle Courtyard, including home baked, delicious scones, soups, quiches and traybakes and can deliver your shopping to your door free of charge. They have a full stock of groceries too.  
 
Placing and paying for your order:
Belsay: Please place your order 24 hours in advance of your needing it.   It’s much easier for the shop to have your order in writing.  So please text Jane Sym on 0771 3325358, or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. 
You will need to pay for your order either by credit or debit card when you place the order, or pay online.
 
Brown’s Lakeside Larder: has an easy online order form https://forms.gle/LmhWS81m2ZzteZTq7 which lists most items they have.    
you can pay by credit or debit card and they will call you to get the details when your order is ready to come out.  
 
Requesting volunteer help and delivery to your home:
If you don’t have access to the internet or email please call a volunteer and we will arrange your order for you.  We can also deliver your order to you, please call the Village Hall Caretaker, Linda Willis 775411, Lucy Bird 775071 or 07808 490004, Andrew Potter 07429 339886, or Richard or Julie Potter 775528.  
We will do all we can to help you.  
 
Post Office: The travelling Post Office will continue to be in Whalton Village Hall from 0915 -1045* every Thursday until further notice.  All the usual Post Office services are available. * Please note change of time.

Are you a supporter of Whalton Village Hall Fundraising 100 Plus Club?

An Annual payment of £10 gives you a lucky number which is entered into a draw each month, from November until September. It is an easy way to support the Village Hall with a chance to win every month.

The draw pays out 65% of its income in the following prizes each month:
6 x £15   &   5 x £10

Plus a bumper Christmas draw which includes the following prizes:
1 x £50    1 x £30    4 x £25    4 x £15     6 x £10

Now you can pay by standing order, by Bank Transfer, by cash or cheque.  Standing Order payments will be deducted from your account on an annual basis. The draw will take place during the Village Hall Committee monthly meetings.

Ogle family visit

On September 6th 2017 we had a visit from 48 members of the American branch of the Ogle family, visiting Whalton church where the Ogle family vault is and many of the Ogle family are buried.

Fabulous Cakes

Whalton resident Karen Fenwick is a whizz at whipping up brilliantly decorated cakes to celebrate happenings in Whalton.  Whilst they appear too good to eat they are as delicious as they are creative.  Her cake to celebrate Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s 90th birthday and the arrival of the Kern Baby can be seen here.
