** POSTPONED ** Whalton Village Hall are Hosting a Night of Music 28th March 2020

Regretfully we have taken the decision to postpone our Music Night which was to be held on 28th March 2020. We will keep you posted with a new date in due course.

We are delighted to welcome 3 bands who will play live - Saturday 28th March - Tickets £10 in advance (£12 on the night).

The NRC formed around 3 years ago and are a 5 piece acoustic band playing and singing tunes influenced by the music of Old Timey, Appalachian, Americana and Country.  You’ll also catch them mixing other folky foot tapping tunes along with original material.  With a mix of instruments including guitar, banjo, mandolin, bass and banjo ukulele, coupled with great vocals and harmonies they create a very distinctive sound and style.  One thing is for sure, like them, you will certainly enjoy yourselves.

Beautiful Poison is a four-piece acoustic band playing a mixture of covers and original compositions with a folky, bluesy, jazzy theme.  The slick guitar work, occasional Banjo and Harmonica from Derek mixed with the keyboard skills from Mary gives the band the foundation for Yiota and Debbie to then lift the sound skywards with their incredible vocals.  They’ve been together for about 2 years playing all over the North East.  Their Mantra is “We bring cakes and chaos!”.

Rupert and Kate – Rupert usually plays and sings with North East “Newgrass” bands The Kentucky Cowtippers and The Often Herd and is a very talented young musician and plays and teaches many instruments from guitar to mandolin.  Kate is a wonderful vocalist and usually sings with Newcastle based band The Teacups.  More recently, they have teamed up to perform together mixing both their styles and influences to create a new and fun sound.
